Vampire Survivors Wiki

Anima of Mortaccio is a weapon in Vampire Survivors. It is the evolution of Bone, requiring Chaos Malachite relic, playing as Mortaccio, and reaching level 80.

Effects[]

Anima of Mortaccio throws spinning bones at a random direction. The bone travels in a straight line, bouncing off of enemies, walls and the edges of the screen, accelerating each bounce until the end of its duration. It also adds a pair of bone arms on the character, after five normal bone shots, they rotating around the character then they fling off as another pair of projectiles until they return to the character. The arms leave behind afterimages. If another character other than Mortaccio gets the weapon, a translucent morphed Mortaccio (Goshadokuro) appears behind the character.

Anima of Mortaccio gains extra Pool Limit.

Duration increases how long the arms spin around the character and bounce around the screen. They spin for at least 8 seconds, and increase by 1 second for every 0.5 seconds beyond 4 seconds for the normal bones duration. They bounce around for at least 4 seconds and as long as other normal bones if the duration is longer.

Amount multiplies the damage of the arms by 0.5 x total Amount.

Each bounce multiples the velocity of the bones by 1.1.

Arcanas[]

Selecting Twilight Requiem (II) Arcana allows the bones to explode when they expire.

Tips[]

  • Anima of Mortaccio benefits from every passive item that can affect weapon stats. The collection tab says that it works best with Duration and Projectile Speed.
  • Anima of Mortaccio has similar behavior to the Runetracer, but lacks its piercing. This makes it especially effective when the player is surrounded by enemies. The bones will have more time to bounce around and deal damage before expiring.
  • With the arms' damage scale with Amount, taking Beginning (X) can make them even more effective.

Trivia[]

  • Anima of Mortaccio morphing Mortaccio into a giant skeleton is a reference to the Giant Skeleton enemy, specifically Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow's with no lower part and crawl along the ground.
    • It also specifically references Creaking Skull's guardian soul where a giant arm appears behind Soma and crushes enemies. When it is not used by Mortaccio, the skeleton becomes transparent with a blue shade, making it look more similar to Creaking Skull.
  • Anima of Mortaccio resembles part of the Italian saying "L'anima de li mortacci tuoi" which roughly translates to "The soul of your bad dead relatives", it is a way to insult someone's ancestors. However, depending on the context in which it is said, it may not be as insulting as it sounds when translated, as it is sometimes said to call out on friends, as an impersonal outburst or even referred to oneself to express regret.
