Boon Marrabbio is one of the secret playable characters in Vampire Survivors. Their starting weapon is the Thousand Edge.

Unlocking[]

Sprite-Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane "Follow the trail after pillaging Pummarola and Skull O'Maniac from the Mad Forest."

How to unlock:

  • Obtain the Yellow Sign.
  • Enter Mad Forest and remove the Skull O'Maniac and Pummarola stage items. This can be accomplished by picking them up (even if they are discarded after) or by obtaining them through leveling up and then maxing them.
  • When these conditions are met, Pies will start to appear and lead you to a specific part of the map (left on the grid of the Hollow Heart and above the Metaglio Left), where a shadowy enemy will appear; it will slowly move toward you even if you do not go there. Defeating it plays a jingle that signals you have unlocked the character.

Once unlocked, Boon Marrabbio can be purchased for Sprite-Gold Coin 666, which scales with other characters purchased.

Alternatively, Marrabbio can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "fettinepanate".

Passive bonuses[]

Marrabbio starts with +20 Max Health, +30% MoveSpeed, +20% Might, -110% Projectile Speed, -80% Greed, and +10% Curse.

Tips[]

  • Without any other bonuses, he will shoot out projectiles backwards. With just one rank of Projectile Speed making it -100%, the projectiles will be stationary.

Trivia[]

  • The Pies that lead to the shadowy witch will appear every 2 seconds, and up to 100 can be spawned.
    • This may reference the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel", where the siblings used bread crumbs to try to find their way home, but found the witch's hut made of sweets and pastries.
  • The name Boon is a reference to the character Noob Saibot from the Mortal Kombat series, while the name Boon is a reference to Ed Boon, one of the creators of the series.
    • The requirement to remove Skull O'Maniac and Pummarola from the field may be a reference to things that get pulled out of characters during Fatalities in the Mortal Kombat games.
    • Marrabbio is a palette swap of Gennaro in the same way that Noob was a palette swap of another Mortal Kombat character, Kano, in Mortal Kombat 3, who is known for using throwing knives.
  • The design of the character is a reference to Shadow Dio from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future.
    • Both Dio and Marrabio appear as blonde long-haired shirtless men with their faces obscured by shadow.
    • Shadow Dio is famous for throwing knives and stopping time. He can use both of these abilities simultaneously, setting up tons of knives then resuming the flow of time, causing the target to be hit by a wall of blades. Marrabio, with the right weapon speed values can do the same.
    • Shadow Dio is a dark recolor of Dio Brando, similar to how Marrabbio is a recolor of Gennaro Belpaese.
  • The name Marrabbio references the italian localization of the anime Ai Shite Naito, where it's the last name of the main character.
    • This is further driven home by the cheat code to unlock Marrabbio ("fettinepanate", literally "fried cutlets"), which is an Italian meme tied to the series.
  • Boon Marrabbio is also a reference to Neo, the main protagonist of The Matrix series, with his ID in code being NEO and his projectiles moving at 10% speed.
