Carlo Cart is the fifth bonus stage in Vampire Survivors. This stage can be unlocked by dealing a total of 25,120 damage with the trains found in Laborratory.
The hyper mode for this stage is unlocked by default.
Alternatively, Carlo Cart can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "thenextstopis".
Description[]
Once known as the “King Bible” underground train station, these tunnels beneath the Laborratory now host chaotic, clandestine, and incredibly dangerous go-kart races run by the lizardman King Carlo.
Effects[]
The stage in the game features a unique mechanic where the stage scrolls to the right, independent of the player's movement. This creates an impression of the character moving through tracks and enemies appearing to be "racing" with the player. Dropped items and destructibles are directly affected by the scrolling effect, preventing them from being reached. Items like pickups and treasure chests must be caught while still in front of the player. Attempting to move westward in order to go after items will be futile as the pace of the scrolling effect counteracts the character's own movement, preventing passed-by items from being reached. Reaching a checkpoint allows items left behind to be gathered.
The scrolling effect also affects enemies, tugging them slightly to the left, causing them to stutter. This effect becomes more apparent when the player collects an Accelerator pickup. Weapons and passive items spawned by Random Events and certain characters (e.g., Santa Ladonna, Eleanor Uziron
), and the coffin of a secret character, are unaffected by the stage's effect and remain at the locations they spawned in.
Periodically, a Reaper of each type spawns and actively chases the player, dealing significant damage upon contact. This encourages the player to move forward in order to prevent Reapers from inflicting harm until they are defeated or have despawned over time.
Special stage pickups[]
There are two special "pickup" items that spawn on the tracks of the stage that provide beneficial effects:
- Accelerator: Touching these accelerates the stage's scrolling and the player's movement by 35% for 5 seconds, without affecting the clock speed. It can be beneficial for fleeing large groups of enemies and quickly reaching items east of the character.
- Checkpoint: It appears occasionally on the stage once every few minutes, it spans the entire vertical area of the track, meaning it cannot be missed or avoided. Once touched, all treasure chests and pickups left behind are moved to the right side of the stage, allowing them to be collected by the player once they reach the screen. Additionally, the player's character receives +5% Growth, Luck, Greed, Curse, MoveSpeed, and Magnet bonuses for each checkpoint they pass.
Waves[]
- NOTE: As official sources name only a few of the enemies, unit names are mostly made up based on their internal IDs and are subject to change.

Trivia[]
- This stage is based on the kart racing game genre and, in particular, the Mario Kart series of games by Nintendo.
- The stage actually re-uses the same two tilesets of the map, looping over its entirety. This is evident when using the character Je-Ne-Viv, whose ability to "eat" stage boundaries and objects causes destroyed parts of the map to re-appear on a regular basis.
- Specifically, this stage uses the bottom area of Laborratory's map.
- A character with at least +300% MoveSpeed can effectively move to the left, resisting the stage's scrolling effect.
- Despite a Dust Elemental enemy being included on the stage's preview banner, in fact, no enemies of that kind spawn in the stage at all.
