Charlotte Aulin is one of the playable characters in the Ode to Castlevania DLC in Vampire Survivors. Her starting weapon is the Raging Fire or the Belnades' Spellbook.
Unlocking[]
Find 7 Mirrors of Truth after opening the Capra Gate.
Alternatively, Charlotte can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "notachild".
Passive bonuses[]
Charlotte starts with +20% Move Speed, +20% Duration, +20% Area, +10 Rerolls, +10 Skips, and +10 Banishes.
She has a charge ability that charges when she is standing still. When fully charged it triggers all weapons she has equipped from the Belnades' Spellbook. The charge time is 15 seconds by default, which is affected by Growth.
She can find special Castlevania pickups like Wall Chicken.
Tips[]
- Triggering all the weapons of the Belnades' Spellbook with her charge ability means that her is encouraged to used weapons from this subset, which all are affected by the Arcana Gemini (I).
- Because her charge ability is affected by Growth, Crown is a must-pick item. It is also recommended to use Wicked Season (XIII) as the only way to continuously scale Growth throughout the game. However, due to her weak starting weapon, Charlotte struggles to deal with high-Curse hordes right off the bat. Picking the Belnades' Spellbook as a starting weapon instead of Raging Fire and choosing Hex can help with high amounts of Curse in the early game, Refectio can also help by providing a bubble of relative safety.
- Sanctuary is almost a must-pick for Charlotte due to her charge ability letting her trigger its very powerful effect far more often than most characters. Because Sanctuary provides a full heal, it can be beneficial, somewhat counterintuitively, to build Charlotte as a tank, with items like Armor, Hollow Heart and Parm Aegis to help her survive while Sanctuary handles the hordes and keeps her healed up.
Trivia[]
- The spell "notachild" is a callback to Portrait of Ruin where Charlotte gets angered when somebody calls her a child,
- Her charge ability is a reference to the charge mechanic that Charlotte can do to power her spells in Portrait of Ruin, even using the same pose.
- Raging Fire is the first spell found by Charlotte in that game.
- Charlotte has a melee attack animation that triggers when using some weapons like whips, that animation, using the book, is the same as her attack animation in Portrait of Ruin.
