Curse is one of the stats in Vampire Survivors. It buffs enemy speed, health, and spawn frequency and quantity.
The player has 100% base Curse before modifications. The Curse in the stat panel is given as the difference to the base Curse, meaning that Curse stat of +30% equals to 130% total Curse, for example. Curse modifications from character bonuses, PowerUps and items stack additively.
There is no upper limit to how much Curse the player may have.
Effects[]
Curse increases the frequency and quantity of enemy waves, as well as their speed and health, by the percentage of Curse. The multipliers to health, speed, and enemy minimum stack multiplicatively with other effects of the same kind.
The new spawn interval with any amount of Curse can be calculated as follows:
When Curse is gained during a run, the health multiplier effect is immediately applied to all newly spawned enemies. All other effects are applied at the start of the next minute.

Curse PowerUp increases Curse by 10% per rank, with a maximum rank of 5. At rank 5, it provides +50% Curse. It initially costs
1,666.

From Items[]
Curse's associated passive item is
Skull O'Maniac, which provides +10% Curse per level, up to a maximum of +50% Curse at level 5.
Gold Ring and
Metaglio Right both provide +5% per level, up to +40% each at level 9.
Torrona's Box also provides +100% at level 9.
Golden Egg can permanently increases Curse by 1% for the character that collected it.
Nightmare
creates green plague balls that increases Curse by 100% when stepping in (which can stack up from each plague balls).

Wicked Season (XIII) doubles Curse in certain 10 second intervals, and gives +0.5% Curse every level.
From Characters[]
- Lama starts with +10% Curse and gains +5% Curse every 10 levels, up to +20% at level 40. In total, she can have +30% Curse.
- Concetta, Zi'Assunta, Marrabbio, and Sigma start with +10% Curse.
- Gyorunton and Gyoruntin gain +1% Curse every level, with no cap.
- Avatar gains 0.5% Curse every level, with no cap.
Legacy of the Moonspell[]
- Menya gains +50% Curse when she is invincible.
- Syuuto and Megalo Syuuto start with +50% Curse.

- Scientist can select to gain +1% Curse per level every 10 levels until level 50, for a maximum of up to +5% Curse per level.
Ode to Castlevania[]
- Axe Armor starts with +10% Curse and gains +5% Curse every 10 levels, up to +20% at level 40. In total, it can have +30% Curse.
- Shaft gains +1% Curse every level, with no cap. He also gains +50% Curse during his HP-Critical ability.
- Joachim can select to gain +1% Curse per level.
- Blackmore can select to gain +1% Curse per level after defeating 1000, 5000, 9000, 13000 and 17000 enemies, for a maximum of up to +5% Curse per level.
- Barlowe gains +1% Curse per 24 health of overhealing, with no cap.
Tips[]
- Upon completing a run of at least 20 minutes with at least 10% Curse active, it will unlock the character Lama Ladonna.
- While increasing the stats of the enemies may not seems like the best idea, more enemies and higher frequency of waves greatly increases the amount of enemies you can kill, which means more Experience Gems.
- Curse stat is additive. The highest possible damage bonus can be attained while playing as Gyorunton, with the rank 5 level Curse PowerUp (+50%), level 5 Skull O'Maniac (+50%), level 9 Gold Ring and Metaglio Right (+40% each), and level 9 Torrona's Box (+100%) for a total of +(player level + 280)% Curse.
