Eight The Sparrow is a weapon in Vampire Survivors. It is one of the starting weapons of Pugnala Provola. It is unlocked by surviving 15 minutes with Pugnala.

Its Union is Phieraggi, which requires both Phiera Der Tuphello and Tirajisú.

Effects

Eight The Sparrow shoots a circular blue energy bullet toward each of the four corners of the screen. Each bullet can initially hit one enemy before dissipating. The bullets cannot pass through walls.

Each point in Amount grants an additional bullet in all four directions.

Arcanas

• Gemini (I) - Creates counterpart Twice Upon a Time. It levels up as Eight The Sparrow does and the angles it shoots at is slightly more vertical, but does not benefit from Limit Breaking.
• Iron Blue Will (VII) - Allows Eight The Sparrow's projectiles to bounce off of enemies once, occassionally have infinite pierce, and pass through walls. Upon bouncing, the bullet completely reverses its horizontal and vertical speed returning to the direction it came from.
• Out of Bounds (XII) - When paired with Jail of Crystal (XIV), enemies frozen by Eight The Sparrow's projectiles will explode.
• Jail of Crystal (XIV) - Gives Eight The Sparrow a 25% chance to freeze enemies. This chance is affected by Luck.

• Crystal Cries (XII) - When paired with Jail of Crystal (XIV), enemies frozen by Eight The Sparrow's projectiles will drop Crystalized Souls when killed.

Levels

Eight The Sparrow has 8 levels. At max level, Eight The Sparrow has +10 base damage, +50% Projectile Speed, +2 Amount, and +6 Pierce.

Tips

• Eight The Sparrow already has low Cooldown, and having more Cooldown reduction can turn the weapon into a stream of bullets, especially when combined with Phiera Der Tuphello.
• By moving in a single direction, with high Pierce and Amount, bullets can stay on screen forever. It can have relatively high damage per second on group control.

Trivia

• Eight The Sparrow, along with Phiera Der Tuphello and Phieraggi have values in the attributes of "critChance" and "critMul" like any other weapons that can deal critical damage, but they do not have the ability.
• This weapon is very similar to Knife, both can deal critical hits by default, level ups increase base damage by 10, with focuses on Amount and Pierce. They also fire in relatively fixed directions.
• It is similar to a joke song written by Italian comic duo "Lillo & Greg", "otto il passerotto", literally translated as "eight the little Sparrow". It may also be an English pun as "ate the sparrow".
• The pronunciation of the name resembles the Italian phrase "e io ti sparo", literally meaning "and i shoot you".
• This weapon may be inspired by the bullets from the Touhou series. With the sheer amount comparable to what the enemies from that series spawn, circular blue bullet on the edge and fading into white in the middle.
  • Coincidentally, the eighth game in the Touhou series, Imperishable Night, contains an enemy that is a sparrow.
