Freeze or Time Freeze is an effect that completely stops affected enemies. Frozen enemies turn blue and are unable to move and attack. However, the player can still deal damage to frozen enemies and push them around by walking at them. Some enemies are resistant to the freeze effect.
Following items can apply freeze:
- Clock Lancet and Infinite Corridor weapons freeze enemies upon hit.
- Celestial Voulge has a 5% chance of critical hitting and freezing enemies hit.
- Mirage Robe and J'Odore have a chance to freeze enemies with their mirages.
- Prism Lass , Prism Damsel , and Time Warp have a chance to freeze enemies.
- Orologion pickup freezes all enemies, including any new spawns, for 10 seconds when collected.
- The Arcana Jail of Crystal (XIV) grants the weapons Magic Wand, Holy Wand, Runetracer, NO FUTURE, Eight The Sparrow, Cygnus, Bracelet, Bi-Bracelet, Tri-Bracelet, Prismatic Missile , Luminaire , C-U-Laser , Pronto Beam , Prism Lass , and Prism Damsel a 25% chance to freeze enemies upon hit. This chance is affected by Luck.
With the Arcana Out of Bounds (XII), inflicting freeze onto an enemy will also create an explosion dealing damage to them and other nearby enemies.
With the Darkana Crystal Cries (XII), defeating frozen enemies will drop Crystalized Souls that grant Growth, Recovery, and Max Health when collected.
Freeze resistance[]
Freeze resistance can prevent the enemy from being frozen, when they are hit by player's weapons. The global freeze from Orologion is unaffected by freeze resistance.
If the target enemy's freeze resistance is strictly higher than the freeze chance of the weapon (1 for Clock Lancet/Infinite Corridor, 0.25 for Jail of Crystal weapons), it will not be affected by the freeze effect. Luck does not increase freeze chance for this comparison.
Garlic and Soul Eater can lower enemies' resistance to freeze. If the enemy is not resistant to debuffs, their freeze resistance is reduced by 0.1 every time they are hit by these weapons until their freeze resistance reaches zero.
