Gatti Amari is a weapon in Vampire Survivors. It is the starting weapon of Giovanna Grana. It is unlocked by surviving 15 minutes with Giovanna.
Gatti Amari can be evolved into Vicious Hunger with Stone Mask.
Effects[]
Gatti Amari summons cats with a hexagram on the edge of the screen. The cats mostly walk around in a straight line and may change direction after a while, and have a chance to attack with their claws when they are close to the enemies. They can also occasionally hurt the player character when they are close to it, dealing twice the usual damage. When a cat is close to another, they have a chance to start a fight, which creates a huge Area-of-Effect of cartoonish scuffle cloud that last for a while. If a cat walks over a Pickup on the screen, it gets automatically consumed, affecting the cat in different ways.
Area affects both how big the claw attacks and the scuffle Area-of-Effect are. Duration affects how long the cats remain on the screen as well as how long the scuffle-effect lasts.
Gatti Amari's scratches has a 1 second Hitbox Delay and its scuffle has a 0.03 seconds Hitbox Delay, meaning that the same enemy cannot be hit more often than every second and 0.03 seconds respectively. However, because all active delays are reset simultaneously as soon as any one elapses, some enemies may get hit more often. This does not apply to claw attacks as they do not last long enough to hit twice.
Interactions[]
Pickups consumed by the cats have varying effects to them:
- Floor Chicken permanently increases the Chance and Base Damage.
- Nduja Fritta Tanto explodes the cat that consumed it.
- The explosion is the same as from Heart of Fire (XIX).
- Little Clover and Gilded Clover makes the cat that consumed it run twice as fast.
- Orologion freezes the cat that consumed it. Can be used by the player instead.
- Rosary and Vacuum have no additional effects. Can be used by the player instead.
The chance for most interactions of the cats are affected by Luck, multiplying the chance.
- It increases the chance for the cats to attack enemies.
- It decreases the chance for the cats to attack the player.
- It increases the chance for them to start a scuffle.
- It increases the chance of Pickups that aren't beneficial to the cats being used by the player instead.
Floor Chicken[]
Floor Chicken, when collected by the cats, permanently increase the chance and attack damage of all cats. The chance is multiplied by 1.1 every time a chicken is collected. The Base Damage increase per chicken is calculated with the formula:
- ,
where 'C' is the total amount of chicken collected. The minimum-function breaks even at 102 chicken, after which every chicken collected grant 0.05 Base Damage.
The total bonus damage, up to 102 chicken, can be calculated using the following equation:
Arcanas[]
Selecting Gemini (I) Arcana creates a counterpart - Flock Destroyer - that is functionally the same as Gatti Amari. It levels up as Gatti Amari does, it spawns three new types of cats and benefits from Limit Breaking.

Tips[]
- Gatti Amari benefits from every stat bonus that can affect weapon stats. It is best with Luck and Floor Chicken.
- As the scuffle Area-of-Effect already has a big radius, it makes Candelabrador one of the most effective ways to increase its effectiveness.
- Duration is also extremely effective, as it make the cats and the scuffle Area-of-Effect last longer. Combined with reduced Cooldown and Amount increasing the number of cats on screen, it greatly increases the chance of them starting a fight.
- The scuffle effect of Gatti Amari deals damage at an extremely rapid pace. With enough stat bonuses to ensure constant cat fights, and especially if the Gemini (I) Arcana is selected, Gatti Amari is among the most powerful weapons in the game, outclassing most evolved weapons as well as its own evolution, Vicious Hunger. Unless you specifically need gold, it is usually best to keep Gatti Amari unevolved.
- The cats need to consume at least 25 Floor Chicken to guarantee no negative effects will ever happen with no additional Luck from other sources.
- Gatti Amari's friendly fire can be used to trigger certain effects, such as the retaliatory explosion of NO FUTURE or the effects of Wandering the Jet Black (XXI).
- Unless you have high Luck, it is recommended to have some way of healing if you plan on picking up this weapon. If you have maxed out regeneration in the shop, Sarabande of Healing (VI) can help your natural regeneration keep up with the cats' damage output. Pummarola and Bloody Tear can also help keep your health topped up.

Trivia[]
- When leveling up contains Gatti Amari, instead of raining Experience Gems, it rains cats. It is probably a reference to the saying "raining cats and dogs".
- With every level increase while playing as Giovanna, her background music increases slightly in pitch and tempo.
- "Gatti Amari" is Italian for "bitter cats", although it resembles the expression "cazzi amari" ("bitter dicks") which colloquially means "shit gets real".
- Before Bianca Ramba was added to the roadmap, there was a creature on all fours among the character silhouettes in her place. This caused speculation that the cats from Gatti Amari could have been planned to be released as a character originally. However, the speculation is debunked as it was the silhouette of O'Sole Meeo, whom was released some weeks later.
