Vampire Survivors Wiki

Gyorunton is one of the secret playable characters in Vampire Survivors. Its starting weapon is Bracelet.

Unlocking[]

"Survive the Boss Rash with just one weapon."

Gyorunton is unlocked after surviving 15 minutes in Boss Rash with only one weapon, including passive items.

The easiest way to do this is to unlock the relic Mindbender, which allows you to limit how many weapons you can pick up. Alternatively, Game Killer (0) can be used to avoid leveling up entirely, so you can avoid taking more weapons. Running an invincible character like Ghost LinoEmergency Meeting DLC or Megalo Menya MoonspellLegacy Of The Moonspell DLC also lets you idle through the entire time.

After unlocking, Gyorunton can be purchased for 5,000, which scales with other characters purchased.

Alternatively, Gyorunton can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "secondevolution".

Passive bonuses[]

Gyorunton starts with +200 Max Health, +30% Might, and +2 Revival. It gains +1% Curse every level. There is no cap on this bonus.

Gyorunton can find Evolutions in any Treasure Chest, regardless of any other conditions.

Tips[]

  • With its unique ability to evolve weapons with any treasure chest, you can evolve weapons much earlier in runs than normal. Combined with its uncapped Curse bonus, which indirectly leads to more levels, Gyorunton can theoretically progress faster than any other character. This makes it useful for shorter stages and Hurry mode.
  • 108 Bocce is highly recommended as Gyorunton's passive Curse gain will allow the damage to increase by up to 11 times.
  • Because Gyorunton has an uncapped Curse bonus but no other scaling stats, it can be difficult to keep up with the ever-increasing power and number of enemies. There are a few ways to try to get around this:
    • Use Arcana that scale with level, like Boogaloo of Illusions (XVIII), to keep Gyorunton's weapons relevant against bigger and tougher hordes.
    • Run a Divine Bloodline (IX) build, as these offer have some of the highest damage outputs and scaling in the game. Gyorunton's somewhat high starting Health has decent synergy with Divine Bloodline, although it lacks armor or a relevant starting weapon.
    • Run weapons and Arcana that scale with Curse, like 108 Bocce, Nightmare, Crissaegrim Tip and Twilight Requiem (II). The latter notably applies to Tri-Bracelet, which evolves from Gyorunton's starting weapon.
    • Paranormal Scan lets Gyorunton scale in power throughout the game.
    • Run Ophion, which has a chance to instantly kill, bypassing the increased resilience of enemies. Limit Breaking Ophion can increase its chance to instantly kill.
    • Once Gyorunton's build is complete, Game Killer (0) can be used to lock its level, which stops the Curse scaling.

Trivia[]

  • Gyorunton is the third character to be unlocked by defeating them. The others are Red Death and Leda.
  • Gyorunton is a reference to Ashton Anchors and the 2-headed dragon merged to his back, called Gyoro and Ururun. All three characters are from the game Star Ocean: The Second Story. Tri-Bracelet, Bracelet's final evolution, is a reference to tri-Ace, the video game developer of the Star Ocean series. Ashton's final ability is also named after the video game developer.
  • Gyorunton design may be inspired King Ghidorah from the Godzilla franchise, being an armless three-headed dragon. More specifically, by an internet meme in which one of Ghidorah's heads (San, nicknamed Kevin) is more childish and aloof than the other two.
  • Gyorunton having two extra Revivals is a reference to the Hydra of Greek mythology. Hydras could only be killed by cutting off all of their heads, and as such, Gyorunton has 3 total lives.
  • Gyorunton might also inspired by Gyarados from Pokémon, both names beginning with “Gy” and sharing the same yellow, blue and white color schemes. Another Pokémon it may have taken inspiration from is Hydreigon, with both being armless three-headed dragon with six wings.
