Listed weapon projectiles explode on impact. Light sources explode. Character explodes when damaged.

Heart of Fire (XIX) is one of the Arcanas in Vampire Survivors. It is unlocked by reaching Level 50 with Arca Ladonna.

When this Arcana is active, the projectiles from the following weapons create an explosion on impact, dealing 50% of base damage (weapons that already havean explosive effect will have +50% explosive damage instead):

Weapons that have low or no piercing, like Fire Wand or Long Gun, benefit from this arcana massively, as it allows them to deal area damage and multiplies their crowd damage output.

It also causes light sources to explode when destroyed and summons a retaliatory explosion when the player is damaged. When retaliating, it creates an explosion around the character and can retaliate every 0.5 seconds.

If none of the listed weapons are present, the explosion from destroying light sources and the retaliatory explosion deals the default base damage of 10. The explosions are affected by Might and Area, each Armor also increase the retaliatory explosion damage by 10% additively.

Avatar Infernas and Julius Belmont start with this Arcana.

Tips[]

  • Since the explosion happens per enemy contact, the infinite pierce of Hellfire and Valkyrie Turner becomes even more powerful as it shreds through enemies while also creating explosion each hit. The sheer amount of bullets and later pierce from Phiera Der Tuphello also create a huge amount of explosions as well.
  • Only base damage of the weapon is used for the calculation of the explosion damage so Valkyrie Turner's charge up does not affect it.
  • Light source and retaliatory explosions deal double damage for Phiera Der Tuphello as it starts with a base damage of 5, this bonus will be overridden by other weapons.
  • Divine Bloodline (IX) increases Max Health by 0.5 when enemies are killed with its retaliatory damage.

Trivia[]

  • The name of this Arcana is a reference to the song "Heart of Fire", which is not only the theme to Stage 5 of Castlevania, but best known as Julius Belmont's theme in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
  • The explosion is also used by Gatti Amari when a cat used up a Nduja Fritta Tanto, it will explode at the item's location and despawn the cat that used it.
  • The explosions as a standalone weapon creates an explosion at the player character similar to the retaliatory explosion. It can also be affected by Amount and Cooldown, which is not the case when it is an Arcana effect or other instances when it is used as they always explode only once.
