Holy Forbidden is a hidden stage in Vampire Survivors, temporarily accessible immediately after surviving 14 minutes in Moongolow with a standard character, other than Sir Ambrojoe, Divano, Gallo, or Zi'Assunta and defeating a special angel-like boss. After obtaining the Yellow Sign, this stage is hidden and can no longer be accessed via conventional means. (It can still be accessed by casting the spell “iwanttoseeitagain” using the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane.)

Effects[]

Upon entering the stage the player loses their Revivals, Armor, MoveSpeed, Growth, Arcana, passive items and weapons, except their starting weapon, and is approached by a wave of bats in a narrow corridor floating in the sky. The game cannot be paused and Hurry Mode has no effect. After 15 seconds the sky in the background turns red, the UI disappears and the bats turn into angelic beings.

Some enemies drop experience, however, the player cannot level up here. Light sources are created along the stage set locations, but they replenish at a much slower rate and only drop Coins, Coin Bags, Nduja Fritta Tantos, Little Clovers and Floor Chicken.

The player must make their way through the corridor and pick up the Rosary to banish the hordes of enemies. The final wall to the right of the Rosary is false and the player can walk through along an invisible bridge to unlock the Yellow Sign. The stage also automatically ends 30 seconds after picking up the Rosary if the player chooses not to pick up the Yellow Sign (or somehow dies).

Pickups[]

One Rosary is lying on the ground at the end of the corridor. Picking it up will end the onslaught and reveal the Maddener, which then flees.

Relics[]

One relic is located in Holy Forbidden.

After obtaining the Yellow Sign, the game returns to the warning screen with the text being randomized, and the stage can no longer appear and be selected.

Hyper Mode[]

This map cannot be accessed in Hyper Mode.

Waves[]

Other than Bats/Bells, enemies in Holy Forbidden are spawned in a special sequence more akin to events than waves.

NOTE: As official sources name only a few of the enemies, unit names are mostly made up based on their internal IDs and are subject to change.

0:15 Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENER-altMaddener spawns over the timer which disappears, turning the sky red and bats into Sprite-ANGEL1Bell Angels. -
0:27 Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENER-altMaddener starts circling the player sending Sprite-MOON BAT PROJECTILEBell Angel Strikers, traveling in a straight line through the center of the screen. Maddener makes 8 revolutions around the player, changing the direction after each. Each revolution spawns 7 strikers, one every 0.38 seconds, causing a total of 56 angels to be spawned.
0:52 Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENER-altMaddener moves to the lower part of the screen and starts spawning Sprite-MOON SHADEBell Angel Bombers with a self-destruct attack. Total of 40 Bombers are spawned at 0.4 second intervals. The Bombers' self-destruct is immediately primed after spawning, exploding 2 seconds later.
1:04 Large amount of eyeballs appear in the background, similarly to Moongolow's end sequence. Spawns 120 Sprite-MOON EYE1Eyespins - 60 small sprite size, 40 medium and 20 large - circling the player at a distance.
1:12 Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENER-altMaddener moves into a position behind the player and starts bombarding the player with eyes. Six eyes are shot at 0.8 second intervals. Shot eyes deal 15 damage in the area, 2 seconds after the warning indicator appears. Eyes land within randomly within 0.2 radius offset from the target location.
1:17 The rate eyes are shot at the player doubles. A large amount of Sprite-BOSS XLDEATHReapers appear on the screen. 4800 eyes are shot at 0.4 second intervals. Deaths that appear on the screen are purely visual.
1:21 The rate eyes are shot at the player doubles again and eyes are shot more accurately at player's position. 25 eyes are shot at 0.2 second intervals. Random range offset is reduced to 0.1
1:27 The rate eyes are shot at the player doubles again and eyes are shot exactly at the player's position. 50 eyes are shot at 0.1 second intervals. Random range offset is reduced to 0.
1:35 Shooting rate decreases and Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENER-altMaddener starts moving towards the player. The player is instantly killed if the Maddener reaches them. This attack is unavoidable and the only way to survive is to reach the end of the level on time. -
- Once the player reaches the last corner of the corridor a large amount of Sprite-MOON TRINACRIATrinacria X start spawning. A total of 50 Trinacria X are spawned.
- Picking up the Sprite-Rosary Rosary at the end of the corridor reveals Sprite-BOSS XLMADDENERMaddener's true form and causes it to flee. All enemies are destroyed and the sky returns to normal. After 30 seconds the player automatically exits the stage. -

Tips[]

  • Disable the Curse Power Up to make things easier. If you cannot disable it because it's not max level, try getting it to max level to disable it, or refund your Power Ups to reset it back to level 0.
  • Since there are close to zero Experience Gem drops, the temporary starting bonuses at level 1 make Porta Ladonna and Suor Clerici good candidates for a successful run.
    • The lightning is a bit random though, yet the big Santa Water AoEs can easily kill the Bell Angel Bombers while the regeneration covers what little hits one should take.
  • Destroy as many light sources as you can. Due to the reduced item pool, there is slightly higher concentration of Floor Chicken and Nduja Fritta Tantos, allowing you to sustain yourself and fend off enemies.
