The Knife is a weapon in Vampire Survivors. It is the starting weapon of Gennaro Belpaese. It is unlocked by default.
Its Evolution is the Thousand Edge, which requires the Bracer.
Effects[]
The Knife throws projectiles in the direction the player is moving or last moved. It ignores Duration and has limited benefit from Area.
Multiple knives from Amount are fired in short volleys. The firing Interval is decreased on levels 4, 6 and 8, grouping each volley of knives closer together. Each knife can initially hit one enemy before dissipating. They cannot pass through walls.
While playing with a keyboard, the knives are only able to be shot out in the eight cardinal and ordinal directions. Using a mouse or gamepad gives them much finer control in their direction.
Arcanas[]
- Iron Blue Will (VII) - Allows the Knife's projectiles to bounce off enemies up to three times, occassionally have infinite pierce, and pass through walls.
- Slash (XVI) - Allows the Knife to critical hit. Its critical hits deal 6x damage and have 30% chance to occur. This chance is affected by Luck.
Levels[]
Knife has 8 levels. At max level, Knife has +10 Base Damage, +5 Amount, +2 Pierce, and -0.06 seconds of Interval.

Tips[]
- Knife can deal critical damage after Slash (XVI) is picked. The more Luck you have, the more likely you are to deal critical hits. Luck can be increased with Clover, Little Clovers, or the Luck PowerUp.
- No matter how you control, Knife is one of the best options for single target damage and keeping enemies at bay in the whole game because of its ability to direct the knives, its unlimited range, and its high Amount and low Cooldown.
Trivia[]
- Knife is the first weapon to have level ups that decreases Interval.
- This weapon is inspired by the dagger sub-weapon from the Castlevania series. Leveling up Knife focuses on increasing Amount is likely a reference to the upgrades from those games usually increase amount of dagger thrown as well.
