- For the weapon of the same name, see Luminaire.
Luminaire Foscari is one of the playable characters in Vampire Survivors. Her starting weapon is the Prismatic Missile.
Unlocking[]
Luminaire can be unlocked by breaking the Seal of the Abyss with Maruto's upgraded starter weapon in Abyss Foscari. She needs to be purchased for
5,000, which scales with other characters purchased.
Alternatively, Luminaire can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "deusexmachina".
Accurate Steps to Unlock Luminaire Foscari:[]
🔹 Step 1: Unlock Eleanor Uzinor[]
- Find her coffin in the Lake Foscari stage (she's not unlocked via a seal).
- The coffin is located in the northwest part of the map.
- Just go there and open it to unlock Eleanor.
🔹 Step 2: Use Eleanor to Evolve Her Weapons[]
- Eleanor has three weapons:
- SpellString
- SpellStream
- SpellStrike
To evolve them:
- Level all three up, and they will unite into SpellStrom.
- Once you complete a run with this evolution, you unlock Maruto Cuts.
🔹 Step 3: Use Maruto Cuts to Evolve Eskizzibur[]
- Maruto’s weapon is Eskizzibur.
- Evolve it into Legionnaire by:
- Leveling up Eskizzibur
- Collecting and maxing the Armor passive item
- Open a chest after both are maxed
Completing this unlocks Keitha Muort.
🔹 Step 4: Use Keitha Muort to Break the Seal of the Lake[]
- Now, use Keitha and go to the northeast section of Lake Foscari.
- There, you’ll find a glowing green crystal — this is the Seal of the Lake.
- With Keitha and her evolved weapon (Millionaire, evolved from Flash Arrow + Clover + Bracer), break the crystal.
- This unlocks the Abyss Foscari stage.
🔹 Step 5: Use Maruto Cuts to Break the Seal of the Abyss[]
- Enter Abyss Foscari.
- Head east to find the Seal of the Banished (a red crystal).
- Use Maruto Cuts and his Legionnaire weapon to break this red seal.
🔓 Step 6: Luminaire Foscari Unlocked![]
- Breaking the Seal of the Banished releases Luminaire Foscari.
- She'll now be available as a playable character.
Passive bonuses[]
Luminaire starts with +0.5 Recovery, +40% MoveSpeed, +7 Revival, and +5 Banish.
Upon leveling up, Luminaire triggers a Rosary. After reviving, she gets a temporary +200% Might, -100% Cooldown, and +60% (up to 300%) Movement Speed (to prevent her from moving too fast) bonus. This bonus last for (15 + 2 x timesRevived) seconds, which means it starts at 17 seconds of bonus, then +2 seconds per Revival used. She also gets a longer invincibility frame each time she revives, based of the formula: (4 + 2 * timesRevived) seconds.
Tips[]
- With her extra Revivals, Phieraggi, Meal Ticket and Grand Cross can be considered her best weapons. The latter is available immediately from the Master Librarian if he has been unlocked, providing a powerful option for Luminaire in the early game.
- Awake (IV) is a very strong Arcana on her due to her massive amount of revives. If things go poorly, over the course of many revives, Luminaire can grow into a formidable force, even with her mediocre base stats.
- Wicked Season (XIII) helps scale Luminaire's Growth and Curse throughout the game, letting her level up more often and trigger more Rosaries. This means that other items that increase Growth, Curse and Charm (Crown, Skull O'Maniac, Torrona's Box, Karoma's Mana) can all be useful.
- Luminaire can have at least 13 revives and a few more (+7 base, +1 from shop, +2 from Tiragisú, +3 from Awake (IV); +2 if Academy Badge is available, and +1 per Weapon Power-Up if it is available, which can make it beneficial to pick up some Operation Guns weapons like C-U-Laser/Pronto Beam).
- Despite her high movement speed, it is generally not recommended for Luminaire to move around the map a lot. This is because Luminaire wants to level up at a steady rate instead of letting XP gems gather into a single super-gem that would trigger multiple level-ups and thus Rosaries when that may not be necessary. Attractorb is highly recommended. Gorgeous Moon can gather XP gems to Luminaire, but triggering a Rosary immediately after Gorgeous Moon's screen-clearing effect may be overkill.
- Luminaire can very easily run a Reaper-killing build, as her Rosary effect helps offset the early disadvantages of Laurel and Clock Lancet before they are evolved.
- Vicious Hunger is not recommended, as it greatly affects leveling rate and prevents Luminaire from triggering Rosaries as often.
- Seraphic Cry does not replace the rosary effect triggered by Luminaire leveling up with a soul purifier.
