Mad Forest is the first stage in Vampire Survivors, unlocked from the very start of the game. It is the only stage that is available in the demo version of the game on itch.io, the others being completely inaccessible, rather than being locked like in the full version of the game.
Description[]
Once a thriving haven, now a dumping ground for evil. A vampire is said to be the root of this evil, but we can find only mayhem and roast chicken.
Hyper mode[]
The hyper mode for this map can be unlocked by defeating the Giant Blue Venus (25:00) in normal mode.
Alternatively, Mad Forest's hyper mode can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the spell "everywhere".
Hyper mode in Mad Forest has +50% Gold bonus.
Items[]
The following items can be found in this stage:
Stage items[]
On this stage, 5 unique passive items are spawned at the start. Milky Way Map displays the locations of these items. Each item is guaranteed to appear at least once, but certain items have a chance of spawning more than once, depending on the starting Luck.
- Clover: southwest of starting area. 30%, 20%, 10% chance for more Clovers to spawn.
- Pummarola: south of starting area.
- Hollow Heart: north of starting area.
- Spinach: east of starting area. 40%, 30%, 20% chance for more Spinach to spawn.
- Skull O'Maniac: northwest of starting area.
The 4 hidden stage items are also present, if the player has obtained the Yellow Sign.
- Silver Ring: north of starting area.
- Metaglio Right: east of starting area.
- Gold Ring: south of starting area.
- Metaglio Left: west of starting area.
Coffin[]
The coffin of Pugnala Provola is located in Mad Forest.
Waves[]
Waves in Mad Forest approach from all four sides of the player.
- NOTE: As official sources name only a few of the enemies, unit names are mostly made up based on their internal IDs with some added flavor and are subject to change.

Trivia[]
- Mad Forest has lower MoveSpeed bonuses than all other stages. On the other hand, it has slightly higher bonus to Projectile Speed and Movement Speed in its hyper mode.
- Mad Forest is also the only stage that does not grant a Luck bonus in its hyper mode.
- The name of this stage is a reference to the song "Mad Forest", which is the background theme of the Forest of Darkness in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
- Before version 1.0, the stage's description was as follows: "The castle is a lie, but there's still free roast chicken here, so it's all good."
