Mask of the Red Death

Mask of the Red Death is one of the secret playable characters in Vampire Survivors. His starting weapon is Death Spiral.

Unlocking

"Settle the score with the Reaper."

The player can unlock this character by killing Death. A guide on how to do it is available at Death § Strategies.

After unlocking, Mask of the Red Death can be purchased for 666, scaling with other purchases.

Alternatively, Red Death can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "ablasphemousmockery".

Mask of the Red Death starts with +100% Movement Speed, 255 Max Health and +20% Might.

Mask of the Red Death can have Axe and Death Spiral in the same run. However, even with a Candelabrador and fully-leveled Axe, the Axe will never be evolved by a Treasure Chest.
He is currently the character with the highest Movement Speed. This makes him suitable for reaching areas far away from the spawn point, such as Relic locations and hidden bosses.

Mask of the Red Death replaced missingN▯ as the reward for managing to kill a Death.
Mask of the Red Death's starting max health before PowerUps is 255, which is likely a reference to computing where 255 is the maximum value representable by an eight-digit binary number, and therefore the maximum representable by an unsigned 8-bit byte.
Mask of the Red Death is the first character to be unlocked by defeating them. The others are Leda and Gyorunton.
His name is a reference to Edgar Allan Poe's 1842 story The Masque of the Red Death.
