Unlocking

The player can unlock this character by evolving the Mirage Robe weapon. He needs to be purchased for 5,000, which scales with other characters purchased.

Alternatively, McCoy-Oni can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "ionicoionico".

Passive bonuses

McCoy-Oni starts with +8 Max Health, +1 Armor, and +20% Growth. His Area temporarily increases by +150% every second.

Tips

• Since the Area increase effect uses the sineArea function, Boogaloo of Illusions (XVIII) cannot override this effect. Although, McCoy-Oni can still benefit from the Area increase every level.

• McCoy-Oni resembles the Italian exclamation from Rome "mecojoni" which translates to "my testicles," a way to convey surprise in a friendly way.
• This is a reference to Japanese myths revolving around the tanuki, which is commonly portrayed as having oversized testicles which may be carried slung over the shoulder, just as depicted in McCoy-Oni's character art.
