Moongolow is the second bonus stage in Vampire Survivors. This stage can be unlocked by unlocking hyper mode for 4 normal stages.
Alternatively, Moongolow can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "honesty".
Description[]
Legend tells of a city swallowed by the sea under a full moon's callous watch. Home to mysteries unknown, we ought to see what lies within its walls.
Effects[]
This stage starts with most of all passive items in the game available as floor pickups near spawn. The merchant also spawns here, regardless if one has Glass Vizard.
Amphora clusters[]
Moon Anforas periodically spawn on the ground, dropping a Gold Coin when they are destroyed and is automatically collected. Every 10 seconds, up to 18 amphoras can be spawned just outside the screen, the amount depending on the players Luck:
Amphoras start despawning if more than 100 are on the stage at a time. Amphoras do not despawn if the player moves too far from them but are teleported back to the edges of the screen instead.
Lunar eclipse[]
When playing for the first time with a standard character the player will experience a special sequence of events. During eclipse, the background gradually turns red and the music becomes detuned. Different sets of enemies spawn minute 12 onward.
After 14 minutes a fish eye effect is applied on the screen, a large amount of eyeballs start circling the player, and a special, angel-like boss spawns. If the boss is defeated the player will unlock and automatically enter Holy Forbidden. After clearing Holy Forbidden, eclipse will no longer happen.
Note that clearing Holy Forbidden will not unlock any normal unlocks for the run (even if you normally qualify for them.) Only unlocks related to the Yellow Sign and the eclipse will be unlocked.
The Healer[]
- See Healer.
The Eggman[]
- See Eggman.
Hyper Mode[]
The hyper mode for this stage is unlocked by default after unlocking the stage.
Hyper mode in Moongolow has +50% Gold and +20% Luck bonuses, but it also increases enemy health by 60%.
Items[]
Following items can be found on ground in Moongolow:
Stage items[]
On this stage, all 16 unique non-DLC passive items excluding Torrona's Box are spawned at the start. Milky Way Map displays the locations of these items. One of each item is guaranteed to appear.
- Hollow Heart, Pummarola, Armor, and Wings: southwest of starting area.
- Spinach, Bracer, Spellbinder, and Candelabrador: northeast of starting area.
- Empty Tome, Duplicator, Tiragisú, and Attractorb: southeast of starting area.
- Clover, Crown, Stone Mask, and Skull O'Maniac: northwest of starting area.
The 4 hidden stage items are also present, if the player has obtained the Yellow Sign.
- Silver Ring: north of starting area.
- Metaglio Right: east of starting area.
- Gold Ring: south of starting area.
- Metaglio Left: west of starting area.
Relics[]
One relic is located in Moongolow.
- Glass Vizard: Sold by the Merchant
Waves[]
Waves in Moongolow approach from all four sides of the player.
- NOTE: As official sources name only a few of the enemies, unit names are mostly made up based on their internal IDs and are subject to change.

Trivia[]
- There used to be a stage with a placeholder name "Old Sanctuary", referencing the theme The Sinking Old Sanctuary for Atlantis Shrine in Castlevania: Bloodlines. While Moongolow is not named after (Sinking) Old Sanctuary anymore, some assets still refer to it as "Sinking".
- This stage is likely named after Moonglow, a city from the Ultima series. The spell to unlock it ("honesty") references the virtue Moonglow was founded on in that series.
- Before version v1.0, the stage's description was as follows: "When the moon is red and bright, the remnants of a town swallowed by the sea come back to the surface, bringing mysteries and riches."
