Pugnala Provala is one of the playable characters in Vampire Survivors. Her starting weapons are Phiera Der Tuphello and Eight The Sparrow.
Unlocking[]
Pugnala is unlocked for purchase by finding and opening her coffin in the Mad Forest. She must then be purchased for 1,000, which scales with other characters purchased.
Alternatively, Pugnala can be unlocked in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane by casting the Spell "flymetothemoon".
Passive bonuses[]
Pugnala starts with +20% Movement Speed. She gains +1% Might every level. There is no cap on this bonus.
Tips[]
- Pugnala has little bonus at the start of the game and her passive ability is very slightly behind Antonio until level 51. She is better in this regard because she gains Might more incrementally and benefits from the higher bonus between Antonio's 10 level gap.
- The uncapped nature of her bonus means most weapons will partially catch up to enemy health scaling from leveling up.
- A Multitude of powerful Arcana are useful to Pugnala, Here are the main three:
- Since Phieraggi's Base Damage and Amount is determined by Revivals, the +3 Revival from Awake is very beneficial.
- You can use Gemini for your first Arcana to get two more gun items,
- You can use Beginning since it will give +3 Amount to both guns at the start and give +3 Amount to Phieraggi aswell.

Trivia[]
- Pugnala's design is inspired by Bayonetta, the main character of the Bayonetta series. This is reflected in the hair/headpiece being similar to Bayonetta's first design, and having two pairs of guns that fire in four directions, mirroring Bayonetta's guns she wields in her hands and on her heels (her alternative sprite has a gun visible in each of those locations)
- Pugnala's theme is reminiscent of Bayonetta's jazz themed soundtracks.
- The Spell "flymetothemoon", used to unlock Pugnala, shares its name with a song used in Bayonetta.
- "Pugnala" is Italian for "he/she stabs" or a command for someone to stab.
- "Provola", more specifically "Provolone", is a type of cheese.
- There is also an Italian Roman Catholic priest during the 19th century called "Antonio Provolo", referencing Antonio Belpaese. Both characters have a passive ability that increases Might.
- Pugnala is the first character to have 2 starting weapons (not counting Christine Davain, Iguana Gallo Valletto and Divano Thelma who gain a level at the start).
- Pugnala shares several traits with other coffin characters. See Coffin § Traits for more details.
