Enables critical hits for listed weapons. Doubles overall critical damage.
Slash (XVI) is one of the Arcanas in Vampire Survivors. It is unlocked by reaching Level 50 with Lama.
When this Arcana is active, the weapons Whip, Knife, Thousand Edge, Axe, and Death Spiral can now deal critical hits. More importantly, critical hits from all sources deal double damage.
This Arcana applies to the following weapons:
- Whip and Bloody Tear
- Knife and Thousand Edge
- Axe and Death Spiral
- Cross and Heaven Sword
- Vento Sacro and Fuwalafuwaloo
- Victory Sword
- Celestial Voulge
- Santa Javelin and Seraphic Cry
- Muramasa
- Eskizzibur and Legionnaire
- Flash Arrow and Millionaire
- Impostongue
- Alchemy Whip and Vampire Killer
- Wind Whip and Spirit Tornado Tip
- Platinum Whip and Cross Crasher Tip
- Dragon Water Whip and Hydrostormer Tip
- Sonic Whip and Crissaegrim Tip
- Jet Black Whip and Mormegil Tip
- Vibhuti Whip and Daybreaker Tip
- Vanitas Whip and Aurablaster Tip
- Tyrfing and Rune Sword
- Confodere, Vol Confodere and Melio Confodere
Weapons that already has critical hits, like Greatest Jubilee's light show finisher or Stamazza, can deal more critical damage with it.
Reinhardt Schneider starts with this Arcana.
Tips[]
- Slash increases the potential damage output for the listed weapons by a staggering amount, besides Arcana that focuses on stat increases, Iron Blue Will and Waltz of Pearls are recommended to increase the potential amount of enemies being hit.
- Despite being able to naturally deal critical hits, Santa Javelin and Seraphic Cry do not benefit from Slash.
Trivia[]
- The name of this Arcana is a reference to "Slash", which is the theme song to Stage 4 of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.
- The name and sprite of this Arcana is also a reference to "Power Slash", which is a Celestial Brush technique from Okami. By stroking a horizontal line of ink across some objects, it will cut them in half. While the sprite does not show a horizontal line, it is still an ink trail. Its effect also has the theme of dealing damage as Power Slash is used to deal supplementary damage while in combat.
- The weapons that Slash can affect are traditionally melee weapons that can cause laceration (which is almost all of them in the full list of weapons), fitting for its name.
- This may explain why it does not affect Cross, which is a boomerang without sharp edges in Castlevania that bludgeons enemies, while Heaven Sword is affected.
- Some weapons like Phiera Der Tuphello, Eight The Sparrow, Phieraggi, and most DLC weapons have the parameter for crit chance and multiplier filled in but their ability to crit is disabled and Slash does not activate them like Whip or Knife.
