The Directer is a special enemy that appears in Eudaimonia Machine, acting as the final boss of the game.

The Directer cannot be damaged. It takes no knockback and is resistant to freeze, instant kill effects, and debuffs.

Behavior[]

Entering Eudaimonia Machine and conversing with The Directer for a third time will cause it to enter battle with the player. The Directer appears towards the left of the player with seven masks, or fragments, resembling the Atlantean's heads (referred to in the final battle of the Ode To Castlevania DLC as the Aspects of Seawinds, Sun, Volcano, Moon, City, Stone and Black respectively) circling around it. Similarly to the White Hand, The Directer moves with the player's view, meaning it is impossible to get closer or further away from it. The player cannot damage The Directer or the Atlantean heads for now. The Directer summons a group of 50 Swarm Pipeestrellos or 16 Yellow Trainees, selected randomly, to attack the player every 5 seconds.

Phase 1[]

After 30 seconds, The Directer also starts to throw damaging Golden Egg Bullets at the player, and the enemy pool is expanded to include groups of 24 Dust Elementals, 24 Milk Elementals, and 24 Skullinos. Each summon cycle increases the amount of summoned enemies by 1. After another 30 seconds have passed and the player is at least level 7, the battle will enter phase 2.

Phase 2[]

The playable area opens up, and the background starts featuring the previous stages behind the black frame. The enemy summon patterns change to 50 Swarm Bats + 24 Zombies during Mad Forest's background, 12 Mummies + 12 Ghosts during Inlaid Library's background, 12 Lizard Pawns + 24 Mermans during Dairy Plant's background, 24 Skulorossos + 12 Testa di Manos during Gallo Tower's background, and 16 Yellow Trainees + 24 Skeletons during Cappella Magna's background. Each summon cycle in this phase increases the amount of summoned enemies by 1. The Directer's hands also move to the right side of the screen and now throw two eggs at once.

After 60 seconds have passed and the player is at least level 14, the Atlantean heads lose their invulnerability and break upon receiving a hit. After breaking all seven heads, the battle enters phase 3.

Phase 3[]

The background is engulfed in flames and The Directer summons 5 skulls and 2 eyeballs circling around it. Like the Atlantean heads, these are also invulnerable at the moment. The Directer will now summon groups of 12 Unknowns, increased by 1 every attack cycle, and attack the player with damaging zones of explosions, similarly to The Ender, or by shooting exploding eyes at it, similarly to The Maddener in Holy Forbidden, every 5 seconds. The possible attacks are 50 shots at 0.06 second intervals, 10 shots at 0.03 second intervals, 20 shots at 0.1 second intervals, two damaging zones close to center and two damaging zones close to sides. If the player has any revives left, Directer's hand will also drag the White Hand from the sidelines to kill the player when it attacks.

Once the player is at least level 19 and has no revives left and it has been at least 60 seconds since the phase started, the skulls and eyes become breakable and the player can proceed to the next phase after breaking all seven of them.

Phase 4[]

The background changes to the phase 1 background but more illuminated, and The Directer creates clusters of coins and gems circling around it. Damaging a cluster will grant the player 0.5 Gold or 3 XP respectively. A large amount of weak Reapers are also spawned. Even if the player dies in this phase, they will be automatically revived by the hands.

Once the player has reached level 22 and at least 45 seconds have passed, the clusters become breakable and breaking them allows the player to proceed to the final phase.

Phase 5[]

The background breaks into space and The Directer disappears. The hands start showering the player with gold and experience. The player can move around, but they won't find anything except for a beating heart that looks similar to Pummarola. After a while, the player will be transferred to the credit scene. The experience is not real and will not allow you to unlock experience level achievements, but the gold is real. Good for small gold farming as the battle only takes 4 to 5 minutes.
