Vampire Survivors Wiki

Unholy Vespers are a weapon in Vampire Survivors. It is the evolution of King Bible, requiring Spellbinder.

Effects[]

Unholy Vespers spawn a ring of symbols around the player that occasionally has purple pages fall out of it. The symbols spin clockwise around the player and deals damage to any enemy it touches. It has a small increase in Area, a massive increase in knockback, and a decrease of Speed and Duration. Additional symbols from Amount are added to the circle and spaced evenly. Projectile Speed affects how fast the symbols rotate, Duration affects how long they rotate before cooling down, and Area affects how far away from the player they spin which has a cap in size and increases the size of the symbols.

The Cooldown of Unholy Vespers no longer depends on its Duration, which allows more than one circle of symbols active without any bonuses. By default, its Cooldown is exactly the same as its Duration, creating the illusion that it never ends as its description claimed.

Unholy Vespers has a 1.7 seconds Hitbox Delay, meaning that the same enemy cannot be hit more often than every 1.7 seconds by the same symbol. However, because all active delays are reset simultaneously as soon as any one elapses, some enemies may get hit more often.

Tips[]

  • Bigger Area for the Unholy Vespers may be detrimental because they are further apart. If the enemies pushed through the "barrier", even with the much high knockback, can hardly leave again when there is a swamp of enemies constantly pushing more enemies in.
  • Combined with the knockback resistance reduction of Garlic / Soul Eater, Unholy Vespers can completely prevent enemies from reaching the player, all the way until the end of the game, if paired with other similar large scale area denial weapons.
  • Since Unholy Vespers rotates clockwise, when circling enemies, it will hit more and do more damage if you move in counterclockwise circles.
  • Speed allows Unholy Vespers to hit more consistently and is very beneficial early on, but due to the weapon's high Hitbox Delay it starts to have less benefit after its symbols can complete a full revolution before it refreshes.
