- This article is about the enemy that appears in a special event that occurs when defeated the Reaper or the certain major plot-relevant bosses are defeated. For other similar units, see Death.
White Hand is a special event that takes place once the character has either defeated the Reaper after damaging it with Infinite Corridor or Crimson Shroud, or defeated certain major plot-relevant bosses which are as follows: Ender, Avatar Infernas, Je-Ne-Viv or Big Fuzz
. It may also spawn during the battle with The Directer should the player have any revives.
Behavior[]
When the White Hand event is triggered the screen will start to turn red, the camera will slowly zoom in, and a bell strikes 12 times. After the 12th strike, White Hand appears from the left side of the screen and will start to slowly approach the player's character. White Hand's movement is relative to the player's view rather than the character's position on the map. This means that it is not possible to outrun White Hand.
Once White Hand has reached the player's character, the player will instantly die. Crimson Shroud has no effect against this attack, because rather than dealing damage, upon White Hand reaching the players character, a hardcoded event triggers which sets player's current health to 0, ignoring any form of invincibility. It is impossible to kill or stall White Hand.
The White Hand's behavior is identical when triggered any way except for the battle with The Directer in Eudaimonia Machine.
During the battle with The Directer, White Hand may be dragged from the right side onto the screen by one of The Directer's hands to kill the player. This can happen multiple times. If the event triggers and the player has no revives, they are still killed by White Hand, but are revived automatically with a special animation.
Trivia[]
- Due to the infinite nature of Crimson Shroud and Infinite Corridor, this event was added as a way to bring the current run to a close.
- The name could be a reference to the Pokémon creepypasta sprite "White Hand."
- The game doesn't detect whether White Hand has touched the player's sprite, instead the kill event is triggered once White Hand reaches the center of the screen.
